Civil Engineer I or II

Job Description

GUY is seeking a qualified professional civil engineer with a minimum of 5-10 years’ experience for immediate employment in our Tulsa or Oklahoma City, OK office. The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate established experience in transportation design and can look forward to an active role on city, county, and state transportation projects.

Essential roles and responsibilities

  • Design highways, roadways, and drainage structures
  • Prepare reports
  • CAD design
  • Manage work assignments for junior engineers, CAD technicians, and other support staff

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Professional engineering license (able to obtain Oklahoma license)
  • 5-10 years of transportation engineering design experience
  • Working knowledge and use of the AASHTO Green Book, Roadside Design Guide, Highway Capacity Manual, and MUTCD
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and within teams
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred qualifications or willing to learn

  • Proficiency in design using Civil 3D software
  • Knowledge of ODOT design guidelines and standards
  • Experience in hydrology/hydraulic design
  • HEC-RAS and/or HEC-HMS modeling experience
  • Familiarity with ODOT hydraulic reports and exhibits
  • NBIS team leader qualified
  • Familiarity with ODOT bridge inspection requirements
  • Experience in Oklahoma
  • Physically capable of performing continuous field work including working at heights and in close quarters, climbing, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etc.
