Welcome to the latest edition of GUY Wire, the newsletter for all things Guy Engineering! We are excited to share updates on our projects, celebrate the achievements of our team members, and highlight the latest news from our company.

We have plenty to share about the great work happening at GUY so sit back and enjoy the update! We are grateful to have you with us on our journey of engineering safe and lasting infrastructure solutions for our communities.

ESOPtober!

At GUY, October is more than just the start of fall—it’s National ESOP Month, and we celebrate it with ESOPtober! As a proud employee-owned company for nearly 11 years, this month is dedicated to building stronger relationships, fostering teamwork, and sharing in the rewards of our collective success.

Throughout October, we’ll be hosting exciting contests, games, and team-building events that bring us together as co-owners.

These activities aren’t just for fun—they’re part of what makes our ESOP culture so special. We believe that by celebrating our shared ownership, we deepen the trust and collaboration that help us achieve great things as a team.

An Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) gives employees ownership in the company, aligning everyone’s goals toward mutual success. When GUY succeeds, we all succeed. That’s why ESOPtober is such an important tradition—it reminds us of the value of being part of something bigger, while having some fun along the way.

First Federal Contract

GUY Engineering is thrilled to announce our selection for our first federal contract as a prime contractor under the GUY-Kenall JV!

We have been chosen as one of the most highly qualified firms for the Safety of Dams and Irrigation and Power programs under the Bureau of Indian Affairs Division of Water and Power Architect-Engineer Multiple Award Contract. This monumental achievement underscores our expertise and dedication to engineering excellence.

Out of only six large firms and four Native American firms selected, the GUY-Kenall JV is proud to stand as one of the Native American firms leading the way in this significant endeavor. This contract not only marks an important milestone for our company but also highlights our continued commitment to providing high-quality engineering solutions.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our talented team and valued partners for their hard work and unwavering support. Here’s to many more successes ahead!

Dottie Award

We are excited to announce that Sarah Hushbeck has been honored with the coveted Dottie Award! Named after our long-time, loyal, former employee Dottie Hagan, this award embodies the spirit of teamwork, dedication, and excellence that Dottie represented during her many years at GUY Engineering. Much like the “Dundies” from The Office, the Dottie Award is a special tradition at GUY, passed around quarterly to the team member who best exemplifies our core values.

Sarah has earned this recognition through her unwavering commitment to her work, her positive attitude, and her ability to uplift those around her. She’s not only exceptional at her job but also a true team player—a cheerleader for her colleagues and a constant source of encouragement. Sarah’s dedication and enthusiasm make her a standout in our company, and we couldn’t be prouder to see her receive this award.

Thank you, Sarah, for all that you do. You embody the values that make GUY Engineering a great place to work, and we’re lucky to have you on the team!

Congratulations, Sarah!

Possum Hollow Ribbon Cutting

Haskell County is proud to announce the completion of the Possum Hollow Road and Bridge #113 over Unnamed Creek, a significant infrastructure upgrade made possible through collaboration between Haskell County, ODOT’s Local Government Division, and GUY Engineering. Led by Commissioner Clark McClary, this $9.38 million project, funded by the County Improvements for Roads and Bridges (CIRB) program, replaces the 1938 concrete slab bridge with a new 58.33-foot Reinforced Concrete Box (R.C.B.) bridge.

The project, constructed by Robinson Construction, LLC, improved nearly 5 miles of roadway and raised the bridge by 5 feet to enhance flood protection. This large-scale effort marks a major milestone for the community, providing safer, more efficient transportation for years to come.
