Celebrating the Guy ESOP
Every year we take the month of October to educate and celebrate our Guy Engineering ESOP. An ESOP, or Employee Stock Ownership Program, enables employees to own part of our company. Individual employees accumulate shares in their retirement accounts over time and cash out when they retire or leave. The stock is free to the employee!
This year we focused training on financial literacy, defining an ESOP, and a get-to-know-your-Guy-friends activity. We roasted hot dogs and s’mores at Jason’s house, enjoyed an ESOP breakfast (Eggs, Sausage, OJ, and Pancakes) at the office, and will end ESOPtoberfest festivities with a cornhole tournament, disc golf, and a chili cookoff. The chili cookoff winner takes home the coveted Golden Spatula award!

Congratulations!
Amanda Reid was promoted to Survey Department Manager in October. Amanda has been with GUY since 2010 as our RW Mapping Coordinator.
Her ability to manage time, people, and projects will be a great asset to Guy. Congratulations, Amanda!

Project Spotlight: Bridge 45 Wolf Creek, Nowata County D2
This project replaced a 1930 35’ concrete girder span that was functionally obsolete and structurally deficient with very dangerous horizontal curves. The new bridge is a 50’-60’-50’ Type II PCB bridge with improved horizontal geometry.
