A ribbon cutting was held for the newly rebuilt Bridge 37 over Cedar Creek on September 22. Constructed by RRY Services of Stillwater, OK, the new 60 foot used steel I-beam bridge will improve safety and accessibility for travelers in Nowata County.
This bridge was the first ODOT-let project in northeastern Oklahoma to use steel I-beams from the I-40 Crosstown Bridge beam recycling project. Funding was provided by a combination of Surface Transportation Program (STP) Funds and Oklahoma’s County Improvements for Roads and Bridges (CIRB) Program.
The original bridge was 30 feet long and had steel I-beams, masonry abutments, and a timber deck.
