GUY Engineering hosted two ribbon cuttings in Craig County on June 21, for Bridge #65 over Elm Creek and Bridge #75 over Elm Creek.
The old Bridge #75 was a concrete beam span bridge built in 1940, while the old Bridge #65 was an I-beam span built in 1937. Both bridges were structurally deficient and were replaced by PC beam bridges. They were both designed by Guy Engineering Services of Tulsa, OK and constructed by RRY Services, LLC.
In addition to replacing these structurally deficient bridges, the projects also improved drainage in the area, thus reducing the risk and severity of future flooding.
Funding for the bridges was provided by County Improvements for Roads and Bridges (state funding).
