The safety inspection of bridges for the counties and cities of Oklahoma is one part of what we do here at Guy Engineering Services, Inc. The National Bridge Inspection Standards were established in 1971. Guy Engineering has been inspecting bridges in Oklahoma since 1993. We began with three counties; Craig, Nowata, and Osage. At the time, we had 2 certified inspectors and performed approximately 200 inspections a year.
Through the years the inspection team has grown and expanded. We currently have 4 certified inspectors, as well as 3 assistants for field inspection and data entry. We are currently contracted with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to perform inspections in eight counties; Craig, Delaware, Mayes, Nowata, Osage, Ottawa, Pawnee & Rogers, as well as five cities; Broken Arrow, Claremore, Okmulgee, Owasso, & Shawnee.
We now perform over 500 inspections annually. We take great satisfaction in knowing that we help to ensure the safety of the travelling public by assisting in keeping the bridges safe and functioning.
