A ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of the Southaven Rd improvements project was held on October 26 at 3:00 p.m.
Southaven Rd was reconstructed from Country Club Rd to SH-20. The narrow (2-lanes and no shoulders) road was widened to include a center left turn lane and curb and gutters. The design also included a new storm sewer, a bridge, and space for a future sidewalk. The design was completed by GUY Engineering.
Construction for the $2.6 million project was completed by Paragon Contractors of Tulsa. Funding was provided jointly by the City of Claremore, Rogers County, and the Cherokee Nation.
