Working for the Cherokee Nation and Mayes County, the GUY team provided the following land acquisition services for 20 parcels:

  • Verify and contact property owners
  • Coordinate appraisals and appraisal reviews
  • Coordinate title work and title curative
  • Prepare and make offers
  • Negotiate with property owners and close on property

The project had several mortgage releases, ownership changes, a major DHS judgement, and a BIA parcel that slowed the project schedule. Communication with the District Attorney’s office, Housing Authority, and the Cherokee Nation Attorney General’s office was necessary to prevent further delays.
