SH-167 over Bird Creek and Bird Creek Overflow
This project rehabilitated a 502.5ft bridge (3-100ft Type IV PC beam spans and 4-50ft Type III PC beam spans) over Bird Creek and a 451.5ft bridge (9-50ft Type III PC beam spans) over Bird Creek overflow. The rehabilitation work for the Bird Creek bridge included new deck, rails, approach slabs, and guardrail constructed in phases. The rehabilitation work for Bird Creek Overflow bridge included deck repairs and replacement of all expansion joints in phases. One lane of traffic remained open at all times. Traffic control was developed for a three-phase construction sequence and included portable traffic signals.
The construction phasing blocked driveway entrances; so long temporary drives were constructed to ensure landowners always had access.
