USS Batfish at Muskogee War Memorial Park
The USS Batfish is a WWII era submarine that serves as a war memorial and museum in Muskogee, OK. The submarine was damaged during spring floods in 2019. GUY worked as part of a team to provide design for permanent measures to secure the USS Batfish, with GUY providing land survey, utility locating, and design for erosion repair and stabilization.
The topographic limits of the survey were of a polygonal nature approximately 400ft X 500ft. Topographic features, underground utilities, and surface features were surveyed and added to a digital mapping file. Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Quality Level B was included, with GPR used to gather and record the approximate horizontal and vertical locations of included power lines, cathodic protection, and water lines.
GUY provided multiple conceptual options for erosion repair and stabilization.
