Land Acquisition
Right-of-way acquisition is a critical step in delivering road, bridge, utility, drainage, and community infrastructure projects. Whether property is needed temporarily or permanently, a successful acquisition process requires regulatory knowledge, organized documentation, clear communication, and respectful relationships with property owners.
GUY Engineering provides comprehensive land acquisition and right-of-way services for cities, counties, Tribal Nations, state agencies, utilities, and other public infrastructure owners. As an ODOT-approved turnkey right-of-way provider, GUY can support the full right-of-way process with an integrated internal team, helping clients reduce handoffs, improve coordination, and keep projects moving from early development through letting. Rather than requiring separate firms for surveying, mapping, design coordination, acquisition, utility coordination, and project status tracking, GUY brings key preconstruction services together under one coordinated team. Our in-house communication across disciplines helps identify issues early, respond quickly to changes, and create a more efficient path to project delivery.
As a Native American-owned, woman-owned, and ODOT-certified DBE, GUY brings extensive experience working with Tribal Nations throughout Oklahoma and nationwide, including Tribal land, trust land, BIA coordination, and projects involving Tribal transportation and community infrastructure. Our Right-of-Way staff includes Indian Land Professionals (ILP) with specialized training in Indian land acquisition processes. This experience supports respectful, informed coordination with Tribes, landowners, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and other stakeholders.
GUY’s dedicated Right-of-Way team is led by experienced professionals with backgrounds in acquisition, relocation, utility coordination, land surveying, and transportation project delivery. We understand the practical challenges that affect project schedules, including title questions, appraisal coordination, property-owner concerns, relocation needs, restricted Indian land, and utility conflicts, and we work proactively to resolve them.

A Respectful, Relationship-Focused Approach
Acquisition is often one of the most personal and sensitive aspects of an infrastructure project. GUY treats every property owner with courtesy, professionalism, and respect. We take the time to explain the project, answer questions, document communications, and work around landowner schedules whenever possible. Our goal is to reach equitable agreements that respect property-owner rights while helping clients secure the right-of-way needed to deliver important public improvements. This approach builds trust, reduces uncertainty, and helps keep negotiations on track.
Experienced, Compliant, and Ready to Deliver
GUY follows the requirements of the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act, ODOT Right-of-Way Policies and Procedures, and applicable federal, state, Tribal, and local requirements. Our team maintains detailed contact logs, acquisition documentation, and organized parcel files to support compliance, certification, and transparent project delivery. We have provided right-of-way services for projects ranging from individual parcels to complex, multi-parcel acquisitions involving up to 79 parcels.
One Team From Project Development Through Letting
GUY’s in-house surveying, roadway and bridge design, utility relocation coordination, SUE, drainage, and right-of-way expertise allow us to coordinate essential preconstruction services internally. This creates a clear advantage for project owners: faster communication, earlier issue identification, fewer coordination gaps, and more efficient project development. From first landowner contact through final acquisition certification, GUY provides responsive communication, detailed status reporting, and practical right-of-way solutions that help move projects toward letting.
GUY brings the people, process, and in-house capabilities needed to move projects from concept to construction readiness.
